Datarade is a data marketplace where providers publish listings for data products and buyers search, compare and contact them. This guide explains the buyer side: what you can see without registering, how listings and provider profiles are built, what a sample preview or a request tells a provider, and how to cut a long list to three candidates. Every statement about Datarade comes from its own pages, including its terms of service and publishing policies, read on 4 October 2026.
What Datarade is, and who pays
Datarade's terms describe a marketplace that lists data products from many providers, with descriptions, formats and samples, where customers can browse, contact sellers and post reviews. The terms also say that Datarade is not a party to contracts between customers, that it neither sells nor buys products, and that it acts as an intermediary. The data is not on Datarade either. The publishing policies define a product as not available through the platform, with the provider granting access securely outside it, and the provider help centre says delivery and fulfilment stay with the data supplier. For a buyer, the contract, the delivery and the support are with the provider. Datarade is where you find it and make contact.
Its homepage says the service is free for buyers and that Datarade is paid by the provider when a purchase is made. It also offers sourcing advice from its team at no charge. Its guide to data marketplaces describes buying in five stages: browse, compare, sample, purchase and review. The sections below follow the first three, then cover contacting providers and posting requests.
Browsing: search, filters and category pages
Search is open: the terms list it as a service that needs no registration. The product search filters by free sample preview, attributes, provider, country coverage, use case, category and delivery method. The attribute filter uses field names such as Company Domain, ISIN and Stock Ticker, so you can start from products that list the key you join on. The help centre says providers can map a CSV sample's attributes to Datarade's standard attributes and that listings can be searched by attribute, so treat the filter as a way to build a long list and confirm the fields on each product page.
Category pages are written by Datarade's editors. The company data page lists the factors its editors consider: accuracy, reliability, coverage, timeliness, historical depth, formats, API capabilities, delivery methods, pricing models and compliance with data collection rules. According to the terms, search listing pages may be curated algorithmically or by hand, and some entries on Datarade's listing pages carry a Promoted label.
Comparing: product pages and provider profiles
A product page is published by the seller. The terms say Datarade does not automatically generate or independently publish product-specific content on those pages, and that a provider profile may be generated by Datarade from available information or maintained by a provider that holds an active subscription. The text you read is therefore the provider's statement. The publishing policies set what it must contain, and the table lists the fields that matter for company data.
| Field in the policies | What the provider must state | What to do with it |
|---|---|---|
| Geographic and temporal coverage, data volume | The countries, the recency and historical lookback, and the volume | Compare with the companies you track and the period you need |
| Data quality | The degree of accuracy, precision and completion | Ask how it was measured, and on which records |
| Data attributes | The attributes the product includes, with no personal data | Check the keys you will join on and the fields you need |
| Delivery methods and frequency of updates | How and in which formats the data is delivered, and how often it is updated | Match them to your pipeline and your refresh need |
| Source | The source of the data | Ask for the sourcing document |
| Pricing | The pricing models supported; exact numbers are optional and a quote is on request | Ask for a quote for the companies you track |
| Terms of use | A link to terms that detail the licence grant and its restrictions | Read them before you test the sample |
Besides those fields, a product page shows a summary of volume, formats, coverage and history, and an attribute table with each field's type and an example value. Pricing can be shown by licence type, one-off, monthly, yearly or usage based, each with a starting price or marked not available. Where a Quality block appears, Datarade labels it as self-reported by the provider. The preview of the data itself asks you to sign in.
The policies bar a listing from advertising attributes the product lacks and from misrepresenting data quality. They are rules for the provider, and a test on a sample is how a buyer confirms them. A profile must also explain how the provider sources and collects its data, and certifications on it are published only after Datarade's data protection team has verified them. Profiles show reviews, which carry ratings for data quality, data volume, value for money and customer service, and a label for verified buyers. Ask what a label such as Verified Data Provider covers before you count it as evidence.
Sampling, contacting and requesting
The terms give registered customers access to sample previews in exchange for their contact information, and registration needs a business email address: private accounts such as gmail.com are not accepted. The help centre says a CSV sample preview shows the first ten rows, so what you see is what the provider put first, and its article on leads counts a sample view as a lead for the provider. Contact Provider and Request detailed pricing on a product page open an inquiry that Datarade forwards to the seller with your name, contact details and message.
The request form works in the other direction. It asks for a title of at least 30 characters, a description of at least 140, categories, countries, how often you need the data (one time, ongoing or usage based), how you want it delivered and an approximate budget. The delivery list includes S3 bucket, SFTP, REST API, Snowflake share, Databricks Delta Share and Google BigQuery. The page says a request reaches 2700+ providers at once, brings multiple offers in 24 to 48 hours, and leaves you to choose whom to talk to. The help centre's article on postings adds that a request stays open for 21 days, that each provider answers once with a proposal naming a product, and that a provider cannot message you until you accept its proposal. It also says a request can be out of reach of a provider whose plan does not cover its budget range, which matches the form's note that some providers only work above a certain budget.
Providers read what you post, so describe the companies by criteria and not by company names.
Shortlisting in an afternoon
- Write the requirement as one paragraph: the companies and their markets, the keys you will join on, the fields, the history, the refresh, the delivery method and the use, such as internal analysis, embedding in a product or resale.
- Filter product search by attribute, country coverage, delivery method and free sample preview, and open ten product pages.
- Copy the same fields from each page into a sheet. Drop a product whose delivery method your pipeline cannot take or whose terms rule out your use.
- If fewer than three remain, post a request. Otherwise use Contact Provider on the three that do.
- Ask each of the three for a sample for the companies you track, not the one on the page, and score them on the sheet in the guide to evaluating providers on Datarade.

Title: Daily technology and hiring data for 4,000 listed suppliers
Description: Firmographic, technology and hiring data for about 4,000 listed
companies in North America and the EU, keyed by ISIN and website domain. At least
12 months of dated history, a daily refresh, delivery by REST API or bulk files.
Internal analysis only, no resale. We will test a sample of our own list first.
Categories: Company data, Technographic data, Hiring data
Delivery: Ongoing, REST API or S3 bucketWhen a provider delivers direct
Fokals is delivered direct, by REST API and as bulk files in JSON, JSON Lines or CSV, which a buyer loads with the platform's own loader. A buyer who wants Fokals data licenses it directly, by written agreement, and Fokals sends sample data for the companies a buyer names on request with the data dictionary and the methodology. The delivery page describes the API and the export formats, and the comparison of marketplaces and direct licensing sets out when each route fits.
Datarade is built for finding which providers exist for a kind of data, across categories from company data to alternative data. A marketplace can also sit inside a platform: SAP's documentation says the SAP Datasphere catalogue has a Request External Products button that opens Datarade's website, and the guide to SAP's Data Marketplace for buyers explains the part that stays inside SAP. The questions to put to any vendor are in ten questions for a company data vendor.
Frequently asked questions
Is Datarade free for data buyers?
Its homepage says the service is free for buyers and that Datarade is paid by the provider when a purchase is made. Search needs no registration, while sample previews, contact requests and requests for data need a registered business account. The contract for the data itself is between you and the provider, because Datarade's terms say it is not a party to contracts between customers.
Does Datarade sell data or deliver it?
No. Its terms say Datarade neither sells nor buys products and acts as an intermediary, and its publishing policies say products are not available through the platform: the provider grants access outside it. A listing describes a product, and a sample preview shows part of the data. Delivery and fulfilment stay with the provider.
How do you get a data sample from a provider on Datarade?
Registered customers can open the sample preview on a listing in exchange for their contact information, and the help centre says a CSV preview shows the first ten rows. For a sample for the companies you track, use Contact Provider on the product page or post a request, then ask the provider for it directly. Ask for the same file format you would receive under a licence.
What does Post your request do on Datarade?
It shows your requirement to providers. The form asks for a title and description, categories, countries, how often you need the data, how it should be delivered and a budget. Each provider can answer once with a proposal that names a product, and you accept only the proposals you want to pursue. The help centre says a request stays open for 21 days.
How is Fokals data delivered to a buyer?
Fokals is delivered direct, by REST API and as bulk files in JSON, JSON Lines or CSV, and licensed by written agreement. You load the data with your platform's own loader. Sample data for the companies you track is sent on request with the data dictionary and methodology, and the data can be licensed for internal use, embedding in a product or redistribution.
